The Best Job Search Websites for Accountants

Here is a brief rundown of what I consider to be the best job search websites for accountants. I get asked this question from time to time so I thought I would take a moment and write out the list along with a brief explanation.

The Best Job Search Websites for Accountants

• CPACareerCoach Job Board - We have our very own “accounting focused” job board on CPACareerCoach. It is a logical place to start to see what accounting jobs might be available near you.
• Accounting.CareerBuilder.com – This page is specifically designed for accountants. By visiting this page you will find a whole list of resources for accountants. There are articles that discuss accounting trends, statistics, job forecasts, accounting articles, and more. Of course, you can also search for accounting jobs as well.
• CareerBank.com – they claim to have over 5,000 accounting job openings advertizsed on their site. They even have job openings broken down by state on the home page. As you can see some states have way more accounting job openings listed than others. If you do not see a job posting that you are interested in, you can always sign up for the email alert feature if you would like.
• AccountingCrossing.com – Right on the home page of the site, they claim to have the largest source of accounting openings. They have a system that pulls in accounting job openings from anywhere on the web (news releases, career pages, etc). This is a paid service although there is a free trial. I plan on dedicating a whole blog post about how this site works and if it is worth it.
• IHireAccounting.com – You can sign up for a free account to get started. As you will discover, they are more than a job posting website. They also offer resume critiques, resume blast services to target accounting employers, and a premium job search agent service. I also plan on writing more about the service they offer in the future.
• Accounting.com – They have been around for awhile, and to be honest their site needs a redesign. However, their resume database is searched daily by accounting employers. As far as I can tell, it is free to sign up and submit your resume to the database. However, if you are still working be careful about putting your info out there for everyone to see.
• AccountingJobsToday.com – has a professional career center that you can sign up for. This career center allows you to post a resume, search for accounting jobs, create job alerts, view videos related to career advice, read about accounting news, and learn more about online accounting degree opportunities.
• SearchAccountingJobs.com – This job search website is different than the others on the list. It is actually an elite group of independent finance & accounting recruiters that have partnered together. They post new job openings on a regular basis that they discover from their own networking options. If you are not connected with a recruiter, this might be the place to find them.
• CPACareers.com – is a nice website that is focused purely on accounting related job openings. They do a nice job of making the site user friendly and simple to use. Take a moment and check them out as well.
