Pipl.com is quickly becoming one of my favorite job search websites . It will save you many hours from doing your own research. You can see everything conveniently in one place. It is becoming the Google of People Search. Recently, they recently a Beta version for Businesses. In the video, I show you how you can use this new feature to help in preparing for an interview and in basic networking.

Remember, knowledge is power. One of the biggest complaints that I hear as a Recruiter is that they had the right experience but just did not seem well prepared for the interview. Don’t let that happen to you! Use this tool to help you go into an interview informed. You need to know the latest happenings with the company and what the future plans are. It doesn’t hurt to know the names of key staff and the roles that they play in the company.

You can use the people search function of pipl.com to discover the hobbies or interest of the person that you will be interviewing. Pipl.com goes as far as showing you their Amazon wish list if they have one! This will let you know about the types of books they read and what they are all about. Now, don’t go buy them a book from their wish list as you will probably freak them out. You have to be somewhat savvy.

The internet has a wealth of information and you can find out about just about anything if you put some effort into it. The point I am trying to make is do not leave anything to chance. Always give 110% with every interview. Have no regrets. Leave a good impression with people even if you are not right for them.

I have even had people referred to me from Hiring Managers who said that the candidate was no the right fit but they were so impressed with them that they wanted to recommend them to anyone else who was hiring. Now, that is leaving a good impression.
