by Jonathan on 7:19 pm

Alright, here is another great Job Search Secret for you to add to your Job Search Toolbox. I want you to view another website entitled Book of Lists . Please watch the 5-minute video above for a more complete explanation.

Basically, this book lists all of the companies in a geographical area from many different perspectives:

  • Fastest Growing Private Companies
  • Accounting Firms
  • Top Area Employers
  • Specific Industries

If there is a book of lists in your geographical area I would almost guarantee that you would discover companines in the directory that you have never even heard of.

Job Search Secret Tip: This directory also list many of the key people in the organizations from Presidents, CFO’s, CEO’s and Directors of HR. You can use the book to identify these names and then look the names up on Linkedin and see if anyone you know might know them.

I go into more detail in the video, but I would definitely add this tip to your toolbox. It will haelp you to uncover companies that you never knew existed.  be back tomorrow for another job search secret tip!

Your absolutely right this is an excellent book! I know of it first hand, because I used to work for the company who published it, American City Business Journals.

Thanks Zohair. I am a big fan of American City Business Journals. They do helpful, quality work.

Great idea, Jonathan!! I know of the Book of Lists and the local Rochester NY rendition of it. In fact, I saw an old copy of it floating around the offices of “my” outplacement services provider just yesterday. Now I can be more enabled to reach the CFO of the non-profit where I think I would be such a good fit.
Thank you, Merci, Danke & All th’ e-Best,
